About ForkLift 4

ForkLift 4 is a dual-pane file manager for macOS that combines local file operations with remote transfer workflows in one interface. It supports protocols and cloud endpoints such as SFTP, FTP, WebDAV, Amazon S3, Backblaze B2, SMB, AFP, and NFS, and includes sync, preview, search, and batch operations that reduce repetitive Finder and transfer steps. For teams and power users moving files across local disks and servers every day, it provides a faster, more controllable workflow than basic file managers.

Who Is ForkLift 4 For?

ForkLift 4 is built for developers, web teams, IT operators, and advanced Mac users who frequently move files between local folders and remote servers. It is especially useful for users who need a Finder alternative with dual panes, dependable transfer controls, and quick switching across multiple remote connections.

Key Features

  • Dual-pane interface with vertical or horizontal layouts for high-throughput file operations

  • Preview, quick open, and remote editing workflows that reduce app-switching overhead
  • Tabs, search, quick select, and transfer queue controls for large file sets

User comment

Update: been using QSpace Pro since my last rant on here (found about it just in time) which is everything an ftp and MacFinder replacement should be, plays well with Default Folder. Was a bit annoying having to manually recreate all my ftp logins, but I am glad I found it.
